OUR MISSION

EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR DIGITAL SELVES ONLINE

The HAT Community Foundation (HCF) is a non-stock organisation established to regulate personal data transactions across an ecosystem of Personal Data Accounts (PDA) based on the principles of the “Hub-of-All-Things” and the HAT Microserver – the HAT ecosystem.

We treat personal data as a new asset class, regulating transactions on behalf of PDAowners worldwide.

The HAT ecosystem is operated by Dataswift under license from HCF. Together we aim to foster a new generation of the Internet and the data economy – which we call Data Economy 2.0 – by empowering individuals with their own data and enabling private AI for their own benefit, as well as that of merchants with whom they interact, and for the good of society as a whole.

WHAT WE DO

We regulate Dataswift’s operation of the HAT ecosystem of Personal Data Accounts (PDAs) on behalf of PDA owners worldwide.

We regulate “Dataswift transactions” across the HAT ecosystem of Personal Data Accounts (PDAs) on behalf of PDA owners worldwide.

This means that we hold the ecosystem commercial operator – Dataswift – accountable for developing and operating the whole ecosystem in accordance with both our values and technical standards for personal data transactions. This is in addition to statutory regulation, including for example in the UK, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Information Commissioners Office.

A TECHNOLOGY & LEGAL ADVANCEMENT

FOR DECENTRALISED AI

The Hub of All Things (HAT) is an open-source technology designed to enable decentralised personal data storage, exchange and AI. Implemented as a HAT Microserver underpinning each of Dataswift’s Personal Data Accounts (PDAs), the technology and associated legal code embedded within Dataswift’s exchange platform enables universal user accounts on apps and websites that let anyone source, store and share their personal data for themselves – so that they don’t have to rely on governments or corporations to store it for them. What’s more, the individual PDA controls and can process their own data, allowing decentralised AI.
